“I wouldn’t be here today without you!”

Kudos to the acute care team at Richmond Hospital: 

I am writing to let you know how much I appreciated the fantastic care I received from all departments while in your hospital. I arrived in the evening and an emergency operation for a bowel rupture was performed the in early hours of the next morning. Later, I had my spleen removed and many other complications followed. I only survived because of the great skill of Dr. Houston and other clinical staff.

Words cannot express my thanks to everyone. In ICU they were professional, caring and got me through. I would also like to thank the nurses on 4 North as well as the wound care and ostomy nurses, the physiotherapy and rehab departments. I also want to express my thank you to the ostomy nurses who are still coming to my home to look after my wound and provide stoma care.

Thank you, thank you, thank you everyone. I wouldn’t be here today without you!
