In a follow-up report to last November’s site surveys, Accreditation Canada confirms that we – the Vancouver Community of Care – is forecast to be Accredited … and here’s the really good news: earning an  Accredited with Exemplary Standing is within our reach.

To take it to the next level and further enhance our quality of care, Accreditation Canada has identified three Required Organizational Practices (ROPs) that need more work in specific units or areas, and one Board criterion:

  • Using two client identifiers (Ambulatory Care)
  • Patient/client and family roles in promoting safety (Ambulatory Care and Hospice/Palliative)
  • Falls Prevention (Medicine and Surgical Services)
  • Use of the Accreditation Canada Governance Functioning Tool for self-evaluation at the Board of Directors level, and reporting on results.

Read all about it in January’s Vancouver accreditation newsletter.
