Construction on the Oak Street campus is about to get even more active with the start of the Site Services Project. From now until October, construction across campus will result in ring road and parking interruptions.
If you have a meeting scheduled at the BC Children’s Hospital and the BC Women’s Hospital, please use alternatives such as transit: the hospital is a short 10-minute walk from King Edward Skytrain Station and a short distance from bus stops along the #25 King Edward, #15 Cambie Street and #17 Oak Street bus routes. Consider car pooling or taking a taxi. Car2Go is another excellent option, with lots of designated spaces on and around the campus. Car2Go vehicles are also permitted to park in Vancouver’s “resident only” areas, which surround the campus.
Also, consider teleconference, Microsoft Lync, or videoconference options. These measures are needed to protect parking for patients and families, as well as frontline staff and medical staff providing patient care.
Construction and parking updates will be posted weekly in the PHSA News: BC Children’s/Sunny Hill/BC Women’s edition, on the C&W Redevelopment Teamsite, external Redevelopment Project website, and on Twitter and Facebook.
