Applications for nursing awards now available

Applications are now available for the 2013 VGH and UBC Hospital Foundation Nursing Awards.

“Every day here, within the Vancouver Community of Care, nurses are applying their knowledge and expertise to care for clients, residents, patients and their families,” said Lorraine Blackburn, director of professional practice. ” As one of the largest groups of healthcare workers, the impact that our nurses have on the health of our community is significant.”

“Nurses are care providers, advocates, teachers, researchers, consultants, mediators, change agents and innovators,” Blackburn adds.

These awards, for which nursing staff employed at VCH – Vancouver may apply, provide ongoing funding to support the professional development of nurses in order to enhance the quality of care and services. Through the generosity of hospital donors and in conjunction with The VGH and UBC Hospital Foundation, these awards are offered on an annual basis.
