Bob Chapman begins his new role as Vancouver Community’s Director, Residential Care on March 18.

Vancouver Community’s new Director, Residential Care

Although next week we’ll say goodbye to Linda Rose, Vancouver Community’s long-serving Director of Residential Care, I am pleased to announce that Bob Chapman will assume that portfolio’s leadership as of March 18.

As Director, Residential Care, Bob will assume responsibility for all VCH owned and contracted residential care sites in Vancouver as well as the Priority Access and Residential Practice Teams. I am confident that Bob’s vision will ensure the system remains responsive to the ever-changing needs of the population that requires residential care.

As an interesting aside, this new assignment marks Bob’s full-circle return to the residential care fold. It was in residential care — at the Purdy Pavilion, to be exact — where Bob first began his career after graduating from the Masters of Social Work program at UBC.

Throughout his career, Bob has assumed a variety of leadership positions for Vancouver Community and its predecessor organization, serving most recently as Director, Home Support and Complex Care, Home Health Special Projects. In this capacity, Bob also periodically served as Acting Director, making him already familiar with the residential care portfolio and its leadership team.

Bob’s collaborative style will lend itself well to the cross-program pollination of ideas necessary to foster efficiency and innovation while maintaining overall sustainability of the residential care system. I am confident that under Bob’s leadership VCH’s residential care system will continue to nurture healthier and longer lives for our residents.

I know that Bob is looking forward to begin his work with a residential care leadership team that he already knows well, and for whom he has great respect. Please join me in welcoming Bob Chapman to the role of Director, Residential Care for Vancouver Community.
