Just wanted to say thank you for the posters that are currently around the Vancouver General Hospital urging people not to smoke on the premises. (Although I have twice now seen someone smoking within about three feet of one of them).
I just gave birth to my first child in February and we spend a lot of time out and about walking around Vancouver. I’m appalled by how many people smoke while standing and walking around public spaces. My daughter is an innocent bystander forced to breath toxic air and I desperately want to protect her from it.
I would love to see these posters all over the city!
Cheers,
Andrea
Editor’s note: This letter was sent to VCH from a Vancouver resident. The posters are part of a campaign to encourage staff, physicians, patients and the public to not smoke on VCH grounds.
