VGH & UBC Hospital Foundation help “putt” prostate cancer in its place!
For the past 16 years, VGH & UBC Hospital Foundation has been committed to the Mr. Lube Tournament for Life, in celebration of the great strides made to improving the outcomes for men diagnosed with prostate cancer. Since 1993, the Foundation, in partnership with the Department of Urological Sciences, has raised over $80 million in support of prostate cancer research through the generosity of its donors and events like the Mr. Lube Tournament of Life.
This year on June 3, many of BC’s business and community leaders took a swing for the cause in an effort to create awareness and raise funds for the most commonly occurring cancer in men. And not only did the sun shine (a first in many years), we also broke a new record raising $370,000!
Proceeds from the event support care, research and education at the Vancouver Prostate Centre, and enable VGH & UBC Hospital Foundation to continue to raise much needed funds to deliver excellence in health care across BC.
Thanks to all the sponsors, golfers, cash and prize donors, and volunteers for their generosity and support in making this event a huge success.
