What’s with the disposable dishes and cutlery at VGH?
Starting July 8, 2013, we’re replacing the floor in Centennial Pavilion’s (CP) main kitchen. The work is scheduled for completion by August 14. Here’s what you need to know:
Noise and vibration in CP
Demolition of the kitchen’s floor will generate some vibration and noise across the south section of CP floors 1 and 2. Noise will be restricted to between the hours of 1200 to 2000 hours, and we don’t anticipate noise affecting CP units.
Disposable dishes and cutlery at VGH and Banfield
Starting July 15, all VGH units will use disposable dishes and cutlery until the dishwashing facilities are operational again. Banfield Pavilion will switch to disposable soup bowls and dessert dishes only. Patients will be advised of this temporary measure.
Service elevators in CP
At least one CP service elevator will be available at all times. Elevators will rotate out of service to ensure the integrity of our dust containment and infections control protocols.
