SACY highlights a partnership approach to creating healthy schools
School Age Children and Youth, also known as SACY, is a partnership of the Vancouver Board of Education and VCH Youth Addiction & Prevention Services. SACY staff works throughout the school year to foster youth and family engagement within school communities.
SACY supports youth by being easily accessible in schools and by encouraging discussions that are important to them, both in the classroom and at SACY-hosted workshops. For parents, SACY teaches them how to support and stay connected to their teenage children through these sometimes tumultuous years.
The June 2014 edition of the Healthy Schools BC newsletter features an interview with Lorraine Grieves, Manager, VCH Youth Addiction and Prevention Services, and Art Steinmann, Manager, VSB Substance Use Health Promotion, about SACY. You can read it by clicking on the link below.
