Support the Women’s Heart Clinic at VGH when you visit Shoppers Drug Mart!

Starting this week, our local Shoppers Drug Mart will be participating in the national Tree of Life campaign, in effort to help improve the health of Canadian women. The four-week campaign, which runs from September 20th to October 17th at the Shoppers Drug Mart located in the Gordon and Leslie Diamond Health Centre, will raise essential funds for women’s health in Vancouver.

The Shoppers Drug Mart Tree of Life campaign is a national program; however, each store selects a local women’s health charity allowing customers and employees the opportunity to donate directly to organizations that make a difference to women’s health in their own communities.

During your next trip to Shoppers Drug Mart on the VGH campus, purchase and personalize a “Tree of Life” icon: a “leaf” for $1, a “butterfly” for $5, an “acorn” for $10 or a “cardinal” for $50. Your icon will be displayed on the Tree of Life in store windows and all proceeds will directly support the Leslie Diamond Women’s Heart Health Clinic at VGH.

About Leslie Diamond Women’s Heart Health Clinic
In 2009, the Leslie Diamond Women’s Heart Health Clinic at VGH opened its doors with the goal to prevent and stop the progression of heart disease in women.

More than 300 women have benefitted from this clinic and their staff of nutritionists, rehab specialists, social workers, psychiatrists and our cardiologists, all dedicated to helping women live well and live long. With Dr. Tara Sedlak leading the way, VGH & UBC Hospital Foundation is fundraising to help expand the Clinic’s offerings to encompass a greater vision of women’s health. Part of the expansion plan includes the acquisition of new equipment.
