Saved by robotic surgery
Igor Zaporozhets – one of our own – is Western Canada’s first patient to undergo robotic surgery for cancer of the throat. The surgery spared Igor chemotherapy and radiation, and he remains cancer-free.
Dr. Eitan Prisman conducted the surgery and is leading a five-year study to compare the effectiveness of robotic surgery to chemotherapy and radiation for eradicating throat cancer.
