VIDEO: Edge of tomorrow
Paralyzed from the waist down, GF Strong outpatient Bob Thomas can stand tall again. With the help of G.F. Strong staff, he’s using a cutting-edge robotic exoskeleton as part of his rehabilitation.
Originally designed for military application, robotic exosekeletons – like the ones depicted in the Tom Cruise movie “Edge of Tomorrow” – are used in rehabilitation settings to help people with lower-extremity weakness or paralysis stand and walk, either with the help of the device or as a tool to help them learn to walk again on their own.
