“Too often we forget that our elders matter”

The following is a note of thanks received for care given on the Acute Care for Elders ward at VGH

Vancouver Coastal Health,

We are writing to rave about a very special ward at Vancouver Hospital…Acute Care for Elders.

My sister and I cannot express our gratitude for the care and compassion given to our dear long time friend. He was a kind, gentle man who was a veteran and whose love story with his wife one could only aspire to.

Too often we forget that our elders matter and that dignity before death is so essential. Acute Care for Elders allowed this dignity and comfort care to flourish.

It is so very important for this form of care to continue…to know that in leaving this world they matter.
