UBCH patient applauds Urgent Care Team
When a post-op patient in extreme discomfort turned to UBC Hospital’s Urgent Care Centre, he found more than relief. He found a team of caring professionals deserving of high praise.
Here’s the patient’s story, in his own words:
“I had a TUR [Transurethral Resection] day surgery in UBC Hospital on March 23, 2015, and was discharged in the evening. Next morning, I went to UBC’s Urgent Care Unit for help (not scheduled originally) because I was extremely uncomfortable with the installation of the catheter. Everyone in the unit, particularly the nursing team of Marilyn and Ann were very helpful. They re-installed the discharge tubes to release the stress or strain, and handled my problem professionally and caringly. I wished there were more health caring professionals like them in the system.”
