UBCH Bike Cage Update – August 2015

If you’ve been at the UBC Hospital recently, you’ve seen the construction underway for a new Greenway between the Koerner and Purdy Pavilions. You may have also noticed that the three bike cages just outside of Koerner sit very close to that construction zone.

Those three bike cages will be closed after Friday, Sept. 4th, 2015, and they will be replaced with ‘staple’ bike racks as seen across the UBC campus.

Health Sciences Parkade Bike Cage

If you wish to use a bike cage, access is being granted for UBCH staff at the nearest UBC Bike Cage: in the Health Sciences Parkade.

As your VCH ID card cannot be programmed for access, you will need a UBC Visitor Access Card linked to your Hospital ID. To receive one, please send an email with
– your name,
– hospital ID #
– work address (for inter-office mail) to arthur.orsini@vch.ca

Please tell your bike-friendly colleagues.

Note: Holes cannot be punched into these cards, please let us know if you would like a plastic sleeve for your card.

Remember, a hospital is no place for a bike so do not bring it inside.
