Using Express Pay machines to purchase parking

It’s that time of year when our VGH parkades experience capacity issues and long wait times to exit the parkades. Please consider the following when purchasing parking at the VGH 12th Ave. parkade or the Gordon & Leslie Diamond Health Care Centre (G&L DHCC).

We wish to remind employees purchasing the daily staff rate at the VGH 12th Ave. parkade or at the G&L DHCC that you can speed up your exit time by prepaying your parking fee at the Express Pay machines. This will allow you to use the much faster Express Lanes on Level 1 of the VGH 12th Ave. parkade and at the G&L DHCC.

The VGH Express Pay machine (big green boxes) are located on Level 4 of the 12th Ave. parkade right in front of the elevators or in the Main Lobby of the G&L DHCC parkade.

Remember, when paying at the Express Pay machines:

• You must have the ticket that you pulled when you entered the parking facility.
• Your Health Authority photo ID is required to swipe in the card reader at the Express Pay machine to prepay the daily staff rate.
• Keep your validated prepaid ticket dispensed from the Express Pay machine and insert it into the Express Lane gate reader in order to exit the parkade.
• Consider using the VGH overhead ramp exit onto 12th Ave., to reduce your wait time.
