Angel Campaign’s “Giving Tuesday” Dec. 1
Our VGH & UBC Hospital Foundation recently launched its 2015 Angel Campaign – ‘Be an angel, give an angel’ – honouring the angels who have had a special impact on your life and the lives of others, and fundraising to support the most urgent needs at our hospitals and health care centres.
From now until the end of January, you will find our winter wonderland of trees in the Jim Pattison Pavilion at VGH, the Gordon & Leslie Diamond Health Care Centre and UBC Hospital. Filled with thousands of angel ornaments, these trees carry messages of love and gratitude to friends and family, medical teams and hospital staff. Please stop by and take a moment to read some of the touching messages.
Paul’s incredible story
Grateful patient Paul Dragan is honouring Dr. Morad Hameed and the angels on the VGH Trauma team this year after nearly losing his life in 2014 from a gunshot wound. Paul is alive and able to spend precious time with his wife and son today because of the passion and expertise of the medical teams at VGH.

Over the next few weeks, we’ll be sharing stories on our social media channels about how angels are making a difference in the lives of patients like Paul at VGH, UBC Hospital and GF Strong Rehabilitation Centre. Please follow us on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter to read these inspirational stories (see below).
Double your impact on Giving Tuesday!
Bev Briscoe, VGH & UBC Hospital Foundation Board member and Treasurer — and generous donor — will match your donations to the Angel Campaign on Tuesday, December 1, up to $7,500.
The Angel Campaign supports the most urgent needs at our hospitals and health care centres, including purchasing critical equipment, funding high-impact research projects and advancing patient care. Thanks to the generosity of our donors, the Angel Campaign has raised over $2.5 million since 2001. Be a part of Giving Tuesday in support of our Angel Campaign and your gift will go twice as far!
