VIDEO: UBC Hospital hits it out of the park!
From Admitting to Surgery to Rehab, the UBCH team tosses and tumbles to celebrate their award-winning performance in a new video.
In 2015, UBC Hospital won the Meritorious Performing Hospital Award for outstanding surgical outcomes from the American College of Surgeons National Surgical Quality Improvement Program (NSQIP). It was UBC Hospital’s second consecutive NSQIP award — a first for any hospital in Canada.
“It’s like winning the World Series — twice,” said Dr. Gary Redekop, Head of the Department of Surgery and NSQIP Surgeon Champion.
And, so, the UBCH team donned their baseball gloves and practiced their throwing arms to produce their first video celebrating how they all support each patient’s surgical journey.

Special thanks
Special thanks to everyone who made this video possible and to those on and offscreen who ensure UBCH provides quality care to surgical and medicine patients every day.
Building on our strengths, we’ll transform UBC Hospital’s inpatient clinical spaces and much more through the UBCH Renewal Project now underway.
