Mountain biker “treated with such care”
Although hospital visits are rarely on the travel itinerary, we’ve seen more than a few vacationers in hospital after an accident. Such was the case of a man who recently found himself at VGH after a mountain biking accident derailed a Whistler vacation.
Spending over a week at VGH before his discharge from the Spine Unit, the injured man and his wife were so impressed with the outstanding care, they reached out to say thank you:
My husband had an accident mountain biking during our vacation in Whistler. From the time he was airlifted to VGH’s Trauma Center to when he was discharged 8 days later from the Spine Unit, we were treated with such care and attention by all staff members.
Not only were the nurses attentive and helpful, but we were impressed with the doctors as well as other staff members including the PT/OT staff and Kevin S. in accounting. Lise B. in particular was wonderful. She gave us advice and made sure we had everything in order so we could arrange my husband’s discharge and get back home. We felt very well-cared for, and it was quite a relief to have so much help and assistance every step of the way. Thank you to all the wonderful staff members that were involved in his care!
