Congratulations for our August ‘Won’ Vancouver 50/50 Staff Lottery winners!

Two lucky winners end their summer with a near-$6,500 smile!

September will shine as bright as the summer sun for two lucky 50/50 ‘Won’ Vancouver Staff Lottery winners! Our August winners are Tammy Dyson, Social Worker Consultant with the Vancouver Home Hospice Palliative Care Service, and Lisa Tung, Clinical Education Assistant with Vancouver General Hospital.

Congratulations to our two lucky winners who received around $6,500 each. A list of past winners is available on the Won Vancouver intranet page.

Thanks to Tammy, Lisa and all of the VCH employees who have bought 50/50 lottery tickets, the VGH Foundation was recently able to buy four ventilators: three for GF Strong, and one for the Intensive Care Unit (IUC) at VGH.

What does winning the 50/50 lottery mean to you?

So fantastic that the Foundation is able to simultaneously be financially supported while providing an opportunity for VCH employees to dream a little.

What are you going to spend your winnings on?

I look forward to spending the winnings on a balance of debt with a treat that I never would have indulged myself in, e.g., perhaps an outrigger boat or a new bike. I may even buy a bottle of wine greater than $20! Thanks VCH!

What does winning the 50/50 lottery mean to you?

Participating in the 50/50 staff lottery gave me an opportunity to donate to the hospital foundation and to actually win is awesome. It is a great feeling and completely unexpected.

What are you going to spend your winnings on?

I am still deciding what to do with all the money, but a large part of this money will go towards my little guy’s college fund, a family vacation and possibly some yummy treats (ice cream and cookies) for the little guy. Thank you again for this amazing prize!

The next 50/50 Staff Lottery is September 30

What would you do with your winnings? There are two (or three) chances to win every month (depending on the corresponding pay periods) and you only need to sign up once to participate. The more tickets sold means the larger the winnings for staff and more funding for the Foundation. To date, $131,000 has been donated thanks to our staff.
