Healthy Living Program continues expanding to charities and non-profits
The Healthy Living Program (HLP) is a health promotion and chronic disease prevention and management program for adults living in Vancouver. The interdisciplinary team work to support communities to create opportunities and overcome barriers in order to improve health for all by promoting: active living, healthy eating, and wellness.
On September 27th, we celebrated the achievements of 9 community grant award recipients in a successful bi-annual Showcase gala held at Creekside Community Centre. Grant funding offered by HLP are intended for organizations to experiment with new approaches to reach new audiences. This “seed money” is designed to launch new initiatives that must be sustainable, enhance community capacity, reach over 50 people and include education. We work in partnerships with recipients to ensure success of their project.
Between 2008-2015, 40 grants were awarded for a total of $225,497. In 2015, HLP distributed 5 grants at $4000.00 each.
