Happy Respiratory Therapy Week!

October 23 to 29 is National Respiratory Therapy (RT) Week in Canada, and our RT colleagues took full advantage of this opportunity to celebrate their distinct, highly skilled contributions to health care.

Members of the RT team at VGH showcased their skills during a display on Tuesday, October 25. They completed free spirometry testing, carbon monoxide testing and even reviewed X-rays from 30 years ago on an old X-ray viewer. The X-rays sparked conversations with two recent lung transplant patients who were walking by in great health.

Information was distributed on smoking cessation, inhaler techniques and the role of the RT.
