Thank you VCH staff!
Angus, Teresa, the VGH Infection Control team and VGH & UBC Hospital Foundation would like to thank everyone who donated to support the S.N.I.F.F (Skilled Noses for InFection Fighting) program, previously known as the Canine Scent Detection Program.
We surpassed our goal of $10,000 and raised $10,575!
“We are so grateful for the support from the community,” Teresa says. “This money will go a long way to help keep the program going — we can do a lot more great work because of donors like you.”
For the month of June, the S.N.I.F.F. program was part of the Great Canadian Giving Challenge, a national public contest to benefit registered charities.
Money raised will help fund the next phase of the three-year canine scent-detection pilot and allow for the training of a second scent-detection dog that could be contracted out to other health authorities. Leveraging the power of philanthropy, VCH expects to successfully complete the three-year pilot and collect enough data to make the case to the BC Ministry of Health for ongoing funding.
