Thank you for supporting women’s health

Thank you to all of the staff who supported the Shoppers Drug Mart SHOPPERS LOVE. YOU. Growing Women’s Health campaign in 2017. Because of your generosity, the campaign raised a total of $2,247 for the Leslie Diamond Women’s Heart Health Clinic at VGH.

“The clinic has had a tremendous impact and has allowed us to use innovative techniques to diagnose women more accurately,” says Dr. Tara Sedlak, director of the clinic. “Further, it has opened the door to new treatment options specific to women.”

The Leslie Diamond Women’s Heart Health Clinic currently focuses on diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of women who are at risk for or who have had a cardiac event. It is one of the only clinics in Canada that advances specialized care for women by identifying genetic differences in heart disease, developing innovative diagnostic tools and educating the health care community about women’s heart health conditions.

For the second year in a row, Shoppers Drug Mart stores in the Gordon and Leslie Diamond Health Care Centre (#2279) and on West Broadway (#263) chose the leading-edge clinic as their beneficiary for this campaign, which supports a full range of national and community initiatives focused on “advancing women’s health in body, mind and spirit.”
