Changes in Vancouver Acute portfolios
Over the past few months, the Vancouver Acute clinical operations directors and I have been meeting to review their portfolios in an effort to better align them with our clinical programs and services, with a secondary focus being the creation of more manageable portfolios in terms of workload. To that end, the following portfolio changes are effective immediately:
- Leighanne Mackenzie, our operations director, Medicine, will assume responsibility for Endoscopy Services at VGH along with the Bone Marrow Transplant Program. These portfolios were previously held by Steve Kabanuk, operations director, Perioperative Services, and Andrea Bisaillon, operations director, Surgical Services, respectively. As well, Leighanne will assume responsibility for the Renal Program, which was being covered on an interim basis by Kerri Berryman.
- Susan Seeman, our director for strategic initiatives, will now also have operational responsibilities and will assume accountability for our Care Management Leader Team. This portfolio was previously held by Michelle de Moor, operations director for the ICU, ED, BPTU, and Patient Access and Flow.
Accompanying these director portfolio changes, will be some changes for three of our patient service managers – Kerri Berryman, Leanne Thain and Nancy Edge. These changes will take effective immediately as well:
- Kerri Berryman will, in addition to her VGH Renal Program responsibilities, assume accountability for Endoscopy. This portfolio was previously held by Leanne Thain.
- Leanne Thain, in addition to her OR Booking and Pre-admission Clinic responsibilities, will play a key leader role in supporting some of our priority work within Perioperative and Surgical Services, including CST.
- Nancy Edge, PSM for the BMT Program will now report to Leighanne MacKenzie.
Thank you for supporting our operations directors and patient service managers during these transitions.
