Overall care was “excellent”
Just a short note to let everyone know how thankful I am for the care I received on my recent visit to R.G.H.
Late one night early in December I arrived by ambulance with a fractured femur from a hockey incident. As the pain was so intense, I probably did not express to the staff who treated me in the ER how thankful I was for their care and attention.
I remember one nurse in particular was very kind and caring. It is difficult to show your thanks when you are having x-rays, traction, etc. but I know I was in good hands. I was unable to get into the OR until the next evening and was moved early that morning to the sixth floor. After surgery, I believe I spent two nights on the second floor before being moved to 4North. The care I received overall was excellent but none more so than the second floor.
My only complaint was the number of times I had to be transferred from one bed to another. Every time I went from one department to another, one floor or another, etc. I was transferred and the pain of that transfer was severe.
Again, please pass on to all departments that were involved with my care and treatment how thankful I am.
