Staff kudos: “She was extremely patient with me and answered all of my questions”
A first-time mom finds herself questioning everything, but thanks to the help of a Ravensong nurse, she is able to get the answers and extra support she needs.
Here’s her story:
“I just wanted to provide some feedback on one of the nurses at Ravensong Community Health Centre. Ms. Rebecca Robinson was assigned as my community health nurse. She was a wonderful support person for the birth of my first son in April 2015. She was extremely patient with me and answered all of my questions. I had some difficulties with breastfeeding at the start and she was very thoughtful coming by the house to try and help me figure out the best method to try and feed him. She also provided a referral to the Vancouver Breastfeeding Clinic which was also very helpful. Other than the breastfeeding, she also answered all the questions of a paranoid first time mom, putting me at ease and also providing a wealth of information, mixed in with a good dose of humour.
One day on the phone, she noticed that my son was making unusual noises. I ended up mentioning this to my GP, who ultimately asked me to go to BC Children’s Hospital, who then referred me to a pediatrician. My son has Tracheomalacia, which he will hopefully grow out of. Had it not been for Rebecca, I’m not sure I would have mentioned it at all.
I’ve also called my questions to 811 when Rebecca is not around and have received great support from one of the other nurses there, Heather.
I just wanted to provide some feedback to you on the wonderful nurses you have on staff at Ravensong.”

Good job Rebecca!!! Its so nice to get this feedback from parents. They don’t usually have the time to do things like this, so kudos to the parents as well.
