Meet Christy, the Ghost of Volunteers Past
The Ghost of Volunteers Past
Richmond Hospital
How long have you worked at VCH?
Since February 26, 1966 – we only had 132 beds!
Your VCH contribution. Tell us what you do at VCH.
I used to do a lot of different jobs including wayfinding for patients and visitors who come to the hospital, selling items in the gift shop and going on outings with the staff and patients. I volunteered for several decades and still hang around to gently remind today’s volunteers how best to provide a good care experience for our patients, clients and residents. Most of the time people don’t see me…
One thing that we might be surprised to find out about you:
I dated Beetlejuice for 3.5 years.
Favorite hobby:
Playing hide-and-ghost-seek.
Three things you always have in your fridge:
Worms, eyeballs and boo berries.
What makes you happy?
Helping people around the hospital, but also scaring them – it gets a bit confusing at times.
Most healthy habit:
I exorcise almost daily…
Favourite vacation spot or place you’ve visited:
The House of Dracula in Romania.
Do you know someone at VCH who you’d like to see profiled in VCH News? Send your suggestion to news@vch.ca and we’ll follow up with them. Don’t worry, we won’t tell them you suggested them. It’ll just be our little secret.
