Tell us what you do at VCH in one or two sentences:
I provide day-to-day Patient Care Quality Office work and other client relations support to clients, families and staff. I’m also involved in incident management and system support, Safety and Learning System (SLS) sustainment and claims management activities, and promote and support proactive risk management through education, system development, risk assessment and action planning and risk advice generally.
What’s your favourite thing about your work?
My favourite thing about my work is the endless opportunities to helping people resolve issues and also contributing to VCH’s ongoing quality improvement efforts.
How does your work contribute to the VCH True North goals?
The foundation of VCH True North model is people first. As a department that formally addresses patient care quality complaints and statutory compliance, I think I’m building a solid foundation for the True North model. As we investigate into concerns and problems througout VCH services, we work with leaders to resolve issues and bring about positive changes, ultimately to improve quality of care. This sounds to me like working towards providing best care, which is at the centre of the VCH True North model.
One thing we might be surprised to learn about you:
I can make sushi real fast.

What makes you happy?
Everything that doesn’t inflict discomfort or pain. I’m happy to exist and live in this side of the world. And my baby nephew, who I’m holding in the picture. And the fact that I have a friend who nominated me to be profiled in VCH News.
Most healthy habit:
Not smoking and CrossFit.
Favourite vacation spot:
Santa Rosa de Dinamarca, Ucayali, Peru
