Department/Location
Population Health.

How long have you worked at VCH?
A little over a year.

Tell us what you do at VCH in one or two sentences:
I help to support research and evaluation projects within our Population Health and Aboriginal Health teams, as well as evaluate and summarize the evidence base for policy decisions we are involved with.

What’s your favourite thing about your work?
Determining ways that we can measure and identify the impact that our programs are having on improving health and quality of life for the population we serve to help us figure out what is working well and what we can improve upon.

How does your work contribute to the VCH True North goals?
A great deal of the work that our team does is aimed at promoting better health for our communities. My role is helping to determine how we can best measure the degree to which we are successful in achieving this goal.

One thing we might be surprised to learn about you:
I spent a year in Costa Rica studying social behaviors of white-faced capuchin monkeys in a tropical forest.

Who is somebody that you consider a major role model in your life?
My dad, who taught me the importance of being involved with and spending time with your children.

What makes you happy?
The idea that I want to leave the world better than when I found it.

Most healthy habit:
Getting active when I play with my 4 year old son.

If an actor or actress were to play you in a movie, who would it be?
Some people have told me that I look like T.J. Thyne from the show Bones, so maybe him?
