Meet Milka the dog
Residential Care Pet Therapy Visitor
How long have you worked at VCH?
On and off for four years.
What would you say your biggest contribution is? Tell us what you do in one sentence.
I visit the elderly in a residential care facility. I also moonlight as an office mascot here at VCH although I’d like to keep the location anonymous as I’m currently in the VCH Pet Policy Witness Protection Program.
What makes you happy?
Being scratched behind the ears and sitting on the lap of people in the care facilities I visit.
What’s your favourite hobby?
I am really good at howling like a wolf, although my friends tell me I sound more like Snoopy.
What is something that people might be surprised to know about you?
I lived in Taipei, Taiwan before being rescued and brought to Canada.
Name three items that you always have in your fridge:
Broccoli, beef-flavoured hip and joint juice, and insulin (I’m diabetic)
Most healthy habit:
Walking five times a day, rain or shine.
What is your favourite vacation spot?
Has to be the fresh snow in Whistler.
