Winnie Price
Job Title
Executive Assistant to the President and CEO, VCH
Department/Location
Corporate Office, 11th Floor, 601 West Broadway
How long have you worked at VCH?
For about 12 years.
Tell us what you do at VCH in one or two sentences:
I organize the work life of the CEO from A to Z and make sure that the information, materials and meetings that Mary needs to be to be successful in her role are well in hand. I am the “gateway” to the CEO and interact with internal and external individuals with a “people first” manner – respectful, fair and at times, with a good sense of humour.
What’s your favourite thing about your work?
The people! The people that I work with in my office as well as my colleagues at other sites and health authorities.
How does your work contribute to the VCH True North goals?
As the CEO’s Executive Assistant, I believe I touch and contribute in a fashion to all the TN goals.
One thing we might be surprised to learn about you:
I was a student at Emily Carr University (when it was still Emily Carr Institute of Art & Design) and somehow in that journey, ended up graduating from Cardiff University (Wales) in 3D design.
Three things you always have in your fridge:
Vegetables, yogurt and homemade jam.
Who or what inspires you?
“Ordinary” people who act in an altruistic manner.
Most healthy habit:
Laughing.
Favourite vacation spot:
Oahu is still mentioned by my teenage daughters as one of their favourite spots because my husband and I became “vacation mom and dad” – there was lots of laughing.
