Tell us what you do at VCH in one or two sentences:
I work with an amazing interdisciplinary team of clinicians, physicians, and police officers, to provide wrap-around supports for a diverse and complex group of people with high engagement in the mental health system. My role is to work with clients, their allies, and our team to develop collaborative care plans and provide integrated, person-centered, and compassionate supports.
What’s your favourite thing about your work?
Every day is different and each challenge draws on my creativity, patience, willingness to embrace and work with complexity.
How does your work contribute to the VCH True North goals?
People are the foundation of what we do and this aligns with my values as a social worker. I try to contribute to this goal by honoring the complex situations and histories that bring people into our care. I am committed to ongoing learning and willingness to question our practices, to ensure that what we are doing remains respectful, informed, and person-centered.
One thing we might be surprised to learn about you:
I used to be a pre-school teacher. Nothing scares me anymore.

A Costco roasted chicken, mixed salad, and some poor neglected fruit.

The resilience of the people and communities our team works with.

A good sense of humour!
