I work at Squamish General Hospital on the combined medical/surgical unit full-time and am a “ward lead” for RT2C. One of my main passions at SGH is palliative care.

What’s your favourite thing about your work?
I love working in a rural hospital! Sometimes it has it’s challenges but there is something comforting about a workplace where every department is on a first name basis. We all look out for one another.

How does your work contribute to the VCH True North goals?
Most recently I feel that working with “RT2C” (Releasing Time to Care) has for me, contributed greatly to the VCH True North goals. It encompasses promotion of better health care for our community, develops the best workforce, it’s innovative for sustainability and ultimately puts people first.

One thing we might be surprised to learn about you:
I’m afraid of spiders, big time.

Three things you always have in your fridge:
Lots of kids snacks (I have five year old twin boys with big appetites), sparkling water and coconut Greek yogurt.

Who or what inspires you?
My patients, my co-workers, and my family. They all inspire me.

Most healthy habit:
I love to laugh.

Favourite vacation spot:
Italy.
