Submitted by Susan Wannamaker, vice president, Clinical and Systems Transformation

As part of Vancouver Coastal Health’s commitment to build a stronger, more sustainable health system, I am pleased to confirm the appointment of Karin Olson to my team as Executive Director of Clinical and Systems Transformation (VCH).

Karin brings a proven record of results-oriented leadership and systems thinking to this important new role. Reporting directly to me, she will build on the accountabilities of my role with an immediate focus being to support vendor contract negotiations as well as play a key part in the design and implementation process.  Karin will support and enable the clinical transformation and change management strategies to support our new clinical information system as well as focused work with other systems including PARIS and Medworxx.

With extensive experience in clinical and administrative positions across acute and community sectors, Karin has been the Director of Acute Services at Lions Gate Hospital within VCH’s Coastal Community of Care since 2006. Prior to that, she was the Manager of Critical Care/Cardiac/Emergency at the same hospital.

Karin joins the Clinical and Systems Transformation team effective immediately and will be based at the VCH Corporate offices at 601 West Broadway, Vancouver. Please join me in welcoming her to this exciting new role and supporting her in the complex work that lies ahead.
