MIDAS supports youth recovery car wash fundraiser

Submitted by Avis O’Brien, Peer Support Coordinator of Youth Long-term Residential Treatment Program

VCH’s long-term residential treatment program for youth, located at The Crossing at Keremeos, BC, held a car wash on July 21st, to raise funds for a trip to Playland. MIDAS, on No.3 Road in Richmond, donated their space and services for the car wash and fully supported the cause: an opportunity for youth living with mental illness and addiction to attend a community attraction in Vancouver. The success of the event wouldn’t have been possible without MIDAS’s contribution, so the youth were very grateful for all the proceeds that were raised.

More about the resident treatment program for youth:
Many of these youth live with mental illness, battle addiction, and or face multiple barriers. These youth are part of an aftercare recovery support group, where they meet and support each other on a weekly basis. They are working towards abstinence from drugs or crime, better mental wellness, and recovery from emotional trauma or homelessness.
