Sumac Place is the name of the new VCH tertiary mental health facility, opening this November in Gibsons on the Sunshine Coast. Sincere thanks to VCH staff members who submitted naming suggestions in response the VCH News article. Sumac is the name of a wildflower that grows in the Sunshine Coast area. Renovations at the site are nearly complete, staff are scheduled to begin training in early October and the first clients should arrive in November. Watch for information coming soon about an open house at Sumac Place in October. Staff will be welcome to drop in to meet the team and tour the site.
