Get Healthcare Research Using Your Handheld Device

In support of Medical Library Month, the VCH Library Services team is promoting new and interesting resources that are available through the library. This week we are promoting healthcare resources that are available on handheld devices.

The library’s primary research databases (Medline, Cinahl and PsycINFO) are now accessible on iPhone, iPod and Android Devices. It only takes a few minutes to get set up then you can be searchinig for healthcare research on the go. Other popular and reputable apps or sites that are optimized for mobile access include UpToDate, Medscape, Epocrates, Lexicomp and MedlinePlus (health information for consumers). Detailed information is provided in the attached document. We would also love to hear from you regarding handheld resources that you find most useful.

Don’t forget about the Online Anatomy & Physiology training. 1-hour online webex sessions are being held on October 18, 19, 22 and 23.  In-person training will be taking place on November 13 at VGH in the Paetzold Theatre. The trainer will be heading to Lions Gate and Richmond Hospitals on November 14.
