Staff Flu Clinic Locator: It’s easier than ever to get immunized against flu

VCH, in partnership with Fraser Health, has developed a search tool so that staff can easily find the most convenient flu clinic.

“We heard from staff last year that it was too hard to find a staff flu clinic,” says Catherine Fast, Executive Director, Workplace Health. “So this year we wanted to make it easier for staff to find the most convenient clinic, and the new Staff Flu Clinic Locator will be a big help.”

The Staff Flu Clinic Locator is available on the Internet at www.vch.ca/staff so that staff can access it from work or home. The Locator includes staff flu clinics at Fraser Health, Provincial Health Services Authority and Vancouver Coastal Health. In total, more than 200 staff flu clinics are listed, from Richmond to Powell River and Pemberton, and from Delta east to Hope. Staff at PHC, PHSA, FH and VCH can attend any of the clinics listed in the Locator.

Staff can search for a clinic by date, time, city or location. Each listing includes a Google map of the staff flu clinic site. Just bring your staff ID with you.

Beginning on November 5 this year, you can also get immunized against influenza at a public health unit, a pharmacist or a family physician. For a listing of public health flu clinics, visit the ImmunizeBC web site at http://www.health.gov.bc.ca/flu. If you choose this way to get immunized against the flu, remember to call the Flu Shot Reporting Line at 1-855-358-3580 to report that you’ve been vaccinated. Then ask your manager for the sticker to apply to your staff ID.

It’s easier than ever to get immunized against influenza! VCH on-site flu immunization clinics end November 30th.
