Congratulations to Decision Support on their Patient Continuum Innovative Solution Award in the category of Business Intelligence/Analytics.

This award recognizes organizations that deployed innovative information technology solutions that resulted in constructive organizational changes and quantifiable business benefits. The Information Management editorial team, led by Editorial Director Jim Ericson, vetted more than 45 entries and selected projects based on their degree of complexity, level of innovation, project breadth, and qualitative and quantitative results.

On a very small budget, the Vancouver Coastal Health team developed a robust data infrastructure to increase analysis in support of improved patient care and system improvement. One unique feature is that VCH’s enterprise data warehouse uses a patient-centric design. Developed in-house by the Decision Support team at VCH using readily available Microsoft tools, the Patient Continuum facilitates longitudinal patient tracking across the entire health authority according to preset criteria.
