And…action! Documentary series starts filming in emergency department

EmergencyA documentary TV series starts filming next week in the VGH emergency department and other supporting units and wards. The series will give the public a behind-the-scenes look at what goes on in one of Canada’s busiest emergency departments.

Not only will this documentary help inform the public about the type of care and processes that occur in our emergency departments, the series is the ideal platform to showcase you – our staff and physicians on the front-line – the doctors, nurses and numerous other staff who provide world-class care to the people of BC.

No affect on care or patient flow
Patient safety and quality care will continue to be our first priority and will be maintained at all times throughout the filming. Patient care will not be affected by this documentary.

Privacy
The film crew will honour the request of anyone who elects not to be involved, or who temporarily suspends their consent to be filmed during a particular moment or activity. If footage is used which incidentally includes someone who has not given their written consent to be filmed or has chosen not to participate, their likeness will be rendered unidentifiable by, for example, “blurring” their face.

Tune in
The series will air in six one-hour parts in January 2014 on the Knowledge Network (channel 5).
