Kudos for VCH staff

writingOver the past couple of weeks, we received a couple of letters from patients, thanking VCH for excellent care.

Note from editor: We are unable to confirm all of the staff names mentioned in the letters and we apologize for any incorrect spellings.

Patient appreciates warmth

Dear Sir/ Madam,

I just wanna express my gratitude for the wonderful and kind service we had when my mother went to UBC Hospital to do her gastroscopy and colonscopy at Gastroenterology division last week. It was our first time to the hospital for this exam, and the nurses at Gastroenterology division were very friendly in helping my mother to prep and provided her a warm blanket. We felt very warm and less intensed before the exam.

Thank you very much for such great service and management!

Recent LGH patient thanks Emergency Department staff

I want to thank the staff of LGH, particularly the paramedics and emergency staff last Sunday…from those who picked my unconscious body to the doctor who stitched my head.  With apologies to the kind nurses for trying to move my head and see the clock when I wasn’t supposed to!

Thanks to the doctor, nurses and social worker for trying to get me to stay the night-  I did not but did return in the morning to check for blood on the brain.  I look like hell but am on the mend.

I have changed my mind about biking just a few blocks without a helmet but am gracious to live in a place where I was treated without prejudice and left to learn my lesson on my own.

None of it seems necessary if I hadn’t been an idiot in the first place, so double thanks to all involved for your care and assistance.

Quick thank you

I was recently seen at the VGH ER and RN Gary Housty was very kind and caring.

Thank you.

Eye surgery patient wants to thank nurse

I was particularly pleased with the care provided by a nurse whose first name is Lee, spelling unknown, during my brief time spent for day outpatient surgery. Lee was responsible for my care prior to my eye surgery.  I was located on the 2nd floor pre op in the Jim Pattison Pavilion. Unfortunately I do not know how to spell the nurse’s name correctly and hope that this email will be appropriately directed. I would prefer to send a letter and would be pleased to receive the appropriate specifics so that I might forward my thank you by mail.

Three Bridges patient has “never had a bad experience”

I’ve been coming you Three Bridges for a couple of years now and have never had a bad experience. In fact, Dr. Signh is the most caring and kind doctor I have ever encountered. The man at the front desk (whose name I am blanking on right now) is always friendly and helpful too.

I just wanted to take a moment to acknowledge how much I appreciate the great services offered at Three Bridges and to also apologize for having missed a few appointments recently without any notice.

Mother wants to thank caring staff

My daughter was just released from the Jim Pattison wing after having spent the past month in hospital with a rare blood disorder TTP. The care she received was a plus. VGH is an excellent hospital with very caring staff. Keep up the good work.

St. Mary’s patient offers thanks for great care

I just wanted to send a quick note of thanks to acknowledge Emergency Care Registered Nurse Colin at the St. Mary’s Hospital in Sechelt.

On the early morning of Saturday March 9th, 2013 I received treatment from Colin after a fall while visiting with friends at their cabin in Pender Harbour. I sustained a head injury that resulted in receiving 10 stitches to the back of my head.

That was my first “injury” and experience receiving care in a hospital Emergency Room and did I ever get lucky with getting Colin to care for me.  He was absolutely wonderful to me. He was compassionate, professional, and very kind.  My husband and I will forever be grateful.

We’ll be sending Colin a personal note of thanks as well but wanted to share this experience with you as well.
