Important change to all current VCH access cards

Starting Friday, May 24, 2013, all newly issued Vancouver Coastal Health access cards will have a new feature programmed on them to better increase the personal safety and security of our staff, physicians and patients.

Existing cards which have not been used on an access card reader for six months or more, will automatically have the access deactivated. This deactivation will ensure that cards not surrendered upon termination of employment, extended absences, or loss, do not compromise site security.

If your card is deactivated and you subsequently require your access re-instated, your options are as follows…

1)      send an email to VCH Photo ID

2)      call the VCH Photo ID office directly at 604-875-4560

3)      drop by the VCH Photo ID office in room 176 of the Willow Chest Centre Monday – Friday, 8:00AM – 12noon, and, 1:00PM – 3:30PM

Provide your full name, position and employee number, and your previous access will be restored as soon as your employment status is confirmed.

Thank you for your cooperation.
