Lower Mainland laboratories to integrate call centres

call centreLower Mainland Pathology & Laboratory Medicine is establishing a centralized call centre to provide consistent, high-quality service across the Lower Mainland.

Three current call centres, located at the BC Centre for Disease Control, Vancouver General Hospital and St. Paul’s Hospital, will be integrated into one hub located in the Lane Level Lab at BCCDC.

The call centre will be staffed optimally to achieve gains in efficiency, service quality, and standardization. The new model will also afford increased opportunity for customer service training and for continuing evaluation of services.

The centralized call centre will be implemented starting with integration of Provincial Health Services Authority and Vancouver Coastal Health call centre services on June 12, 2013, followed by Providence Health Care on June 26, 2013.

Results reporting for Fraser Health sites will be integrated into the call centre at a future date.

With integration, laboratory results will be available for all laboratory sites in PHSA and VCH* (June 12) and for laboratory sites in PHC (June 26) at: 1 (877) 747-2522

Hours of Operation are 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday to Friday.

Staff may direct any comments or questions about our services to LMLabs@phsa.ca.

*With the exception of tests performed in laboratories in Powell River and Bella Bella/Bella Coola.
