Are you entered to win an iPad?

Enter to win an iPad and help your Public Health colleagues learn about our community’s health and well-being at the same time. My Health My Community, a web-based health and wellness survey will take you 10-15 minutes to complete and the draw for prizes, including an iPad, is at the end of this month. Take the survey today at www.myhealthmycommunity.org.

My Health My Community was developed by Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH), Fraser Health (FH) and the UBC Faculty of Medicine’s eHealth Strategy Office.  With the Canada census’ long form survey no longer mandatory, there’s a lack of detailed socioeconomic statistics about our communities. The My Health My Community survey will obtain the stats necessary to ensure we are providing the more relevant and appropriate health and community services to our residents.

What does the survey ask?
The surveys asks people, 18 years and older, about their health status, neighbourhood characteristics and lifestyle choices, like whether you smoke, how many fruit and vegetables you eat and how much you exercise. The survey is available in English and Chinese and can be done on a computer, laptop or smartphone.

Survey results
My Health My Community will help us to learn how our lifestyles, our neighborhoods and our environment all come together to affect overall health and well-being. We’ll study the results, and be able to improve future programs and services so that they are relevant to your health and wellness needs. We’ll also be able to share the most up-to-date health and lifestyle information with local governments and community stakeholders and help them shape policies, programs and community services that lead to better health.
