Join the conversation – new blog site for all VCH staff

Have you ever had a brilliant idea but didn’t know where to share it? How about a co-worker who did something so amazing that you wanted to brag to anyone who would listen? We have just the thing for you…

Up For Discussion – formerly known as our executive blog – is now an online forum where all staff and physicians can post on and discuss a range of different issues: From big-picture, important-issues content to lighter, fun posts to recognition of hardworking coworkers. Anyone can post or comment: The only criteria are that you are honest and totally respectful.

Four new categories

  • Big Picture (a place to talk about organization goals, budget and strategy),
  • The Huddle (a place to share ideas about providing quality care or best practices that can improve our work),
  • People & Pride (a place to recognize the excellent work of your coworkers) and
  • Lighter Notes (a place to show fun photos and content about what makes you tick and happy).

Participate and win Capture

The goal is to get people engaged, to give them a place to talk to colleagues outside of the four walls of their office, unit, CHC or hospital. So as part of the launch of this cool new site, those who submit posts and/or comment on articles (such as this week’s article, Striving for outstanding on recent changes to the Senior Executive Team by VCH President & CEO Mary Ackenhusen) will be automatically entered to win one of 15 Starbucks gift cards to help keep you caffeinated and productive.

Read the new posts

Read Mary’s article as well as posts from frontline staff who submitted their own pieces (on a wide range of topics) for the launch of the new site.
