Respect starts here: order your pink t-shirt by Feb 20!

The Senior Executive Team showed their support for VCH’s ‘Respect Starts Here’ campaign by proudly wearing their VCH exclusive pink respect t-shirts, now available for sale to all staff and physicians.

“We wanted to do something special this year for Pink Shirt Day this year,” said Anne Harvey, Vice President of Employee Engagement. “The pink respect t-shirts show how far we have come since we introduced the Respectful Workplace policy, supports and education last February to encourage staff and physicians to seek help and report bullying. We have seen a real cultural shift with more staff feeling safe to report bullying and less staff bullying each other as a result.”

Respect starts with you

Contributing to a bully-free workplace means being accountable for how you act and speak each and every shift. “We are each responsible for what we say and do in the workplace,” said Wayne Balshin, Executive Director of Employee Relations. “No matter what your position is, or the positions of the people you work with, treating all people with equal respect is an essential ‘people first’ value and work expectation.”

Thank you for helping us stop bullying and conflict in workplace by bringing forward your concerns to your manger or VCH’s No-bully line 1 844 NO BULLY (662 8559). You are helping us send a message to all staff and physicians that VCH does not tolerate bullying and disrespectful behaviour.take-a-stand-logo
