A global network of communicators has branded VCH Communications & Public Affairs the “best of the best” in internal communications. The International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) has honoured the team with the special “Best of the Best” award, the judging panel’s top category pick from the entire field of 313 winning communication award entries from around the world. The award is for the internal communications Gavin Wilson and Tiffany Akins performed to support and promote Emergency Room: Life + Death at VGH, a Knowledge Network documentary series filmed at VGH. Gavin and Tiffany join just three other winners from the US, Russia and Hong Kong.
The Best of the Best award was earned winning two Gold Quill Awards of Excellence, in the employee engagement and internal communication categories. The Gold Quill Awards recognize business communication excellence globally, and is acknowledged as one of the most prestigious awards programs in the industry. The internal communications work, and the documentary series itself, helped improve staff satisfaction with VCH, boosted staff morale, increased staff sense of feeling respected in the workplace and raised sense among employees that VCH’s mission is important. This documentary series was truly a team effort, and our congratulations extend to all the emergency department staff, doctors, and leadership who helped make the series such a success.
