The flu season officially starts Thursday, December 1, but the virus doesn’t always follow the calendar – five health care facilities within our region experienced flu outbreaks in November alone.

To protect our most vulnerable patients from a potentially fatal flu infection, as of today, you should have had a flu shot or be wearing a mask while in patient areas, as the Influenza Prevention Policy is in effect as of today.

Self-report your immunization status

All staff, physicians, residents etc must report their immunization status online.

• Staff and residents report at https://flu.vch.ca.
• Physicians (including dentists, midwives, psychologists, podiatrists, denturists, nurse practitioners and fellows) report at https://medicalhealthstaff.vch.ca.

 The self-reporting website for flu immunizations has experienced some technical difficulties. If you are having issues in reporting your flu immunization please email fluprevention@vch.ca for assistance.
