Sept 9: deadline to submit abstracts for the 2018 Quality Forum
Time is running out to submit an abstract for the next Quality Forum, happening February 21-23, 2018 in Vancouver! Share your big ideas, success stories, or lessons learned in a rapid-fire presentation or storyboard in one of two categories: Demonstrated Results or Novel Ideas. The deadline to submit your abstracts is September 9, 2017.

This session is focused on building knowledge and skills for leading change in an organization. It will also explore how you can manage organizational energy as a change agent – and your own energy, too! By the end of the day, you’ll be able to:

- Utilize framing and storytelling approaches to build alliances
- Recognize the importance of thought diversity
- Analyze resistance to inform strategies for change

Leslie Bonshor, a member of Tzeachten First Nation and VCH’s Aboriginal Health Executive, is the next speaker in a year-long Cultural Safety & Humility Action Series hosted by the BC Patient Safety & Quality Council and First Nations Health Authority.
Leslie’s presentation addresses the questions of how we put cultural safety and humility into practice, and how we can hardwire the Indigenous perspective into everything we do in health care. She’ll discuss the multiple levels of support and enablers for implementing a cultural safety framework and action plan, including HR recruitment, organization systems, physical spaces, and beyond.
